The two major airports in Apulia are Bari Palese and Brindisi Casale.
The Bari Palese "Karol Wojtyla" airport is an international airport, featuring all the modern conveniences of air travel, such as duty-free shops, baggage storage, vehicle rental outlets, Internet points and information services.
The Brindisi "Papola Casale" airport is the closest to Salento.
From Italy: both Brindisi and Bari are very well connected to Rome and Milan (the two international Italian hubs), and to Venice, Verona, Bologna, Turin, Catania and Trapani (Sicily), Olbia (Sardinia), Genova, with regular flights.
From Europe: from Europe you will almost always find it cheaper to use a budget airline when flying to Apulia and Salento. The companies sprung up in recent years offer good connections inside Europe, with many flights serving regional airports (see

However, if you want to fly more comfortably, or if the budget airline timetables don't suit you, it is worth checking the website of the major airlines (Alitalia, British Airways, Lufthansa), who often have good offers.
